Selwyn Art Show 2026 Terms and Conditions

Organised by Selwyn Central Arts Council (SCAC)

 

Art Entries: Original artworks in any medium are invited. Artwork must be recent work of the artist, originals are preferred, any prints must be numbered limited editions. SCAC reserves the right to request art be re-arranged to enhance displays or to be removed.

 

Conditions of Sale: All artworks must be for sale, the show is a cash and carry event, as pieces are sold, efforts will be made to contact artists to re stock their display.

 

Commission: 15% of the stated selling price will be deducted from all sales. Payment to Artists will be processed ASAP after the end of the show, please allow 3 weeks for this to be completed as we will send details to artists for checking before making payments. We are volunteers and do this in our spare time.

 

Entry Fees and Details:

 

Panels: 1 Panel =$60, 2 = $120, 3 = $165, 4 = $200, joint bookings are not allowed.

Display your quality works as you want, please do not crowd your space, nothing lower than 20cm from the bottom of the panel. No small items please, e.g. greeting cards, magnets.

Only art groups registering as group displays will be allowed to share panels.

Lighting will be supplied as part of the hire.

Panel size 1.2w x 2.3h

 

Easel Space:  $25 ea.

BYO easel and set up to display your work,

Space allocated will be 1x1m

 

Tables: $35 ea.

Table size .9m x 1.8m, includes black tablecloth.

Consider having a bleacher or floor space if you have large or heavy artworks.

 

Bleachers: $45 ea.

Space will be 1.5m wide, 2 levels

 

Floor Spaces: $25 ea.

Spaces will be 1x1m

 

Opening Night tickets are $10 per person, please include this with your registration payment.

 

Payment and registration are only available online.

Entries close: 5pm Sunday 31 May.

 

  • Entry fee refunds will be considered after the completion of the show by the SCAC committee on a case-by-case basis.

  • SCAC reserves the right to cancel the show if circumstances indicate it will not be viable to proceed.

 

Insurance: While every care will be taken, SCAC and its committee do not accept any liability for any loss or damage. Insurance during transit and at the exhibition is the sole responsibility of the artist.

 

Display: All artworks must be dry and suitably presented for display. Artworks will not go beyond the edge of the allocated space.

 

Labelling: as per artist information below, all works require a label attached to the work and one on display beside the work.

Friday 12 June:                                 2-5.30pm Artists set up and display their works

 

Friday 12 June:                                 7-8.30pm Opening Night

 

Saturday 13 June:                           Show open to public 10am – 4 pm

 

Sunday 14 June:                              Show open to public 10am – 4 pm

 

Sunday 14 June:                              3pm the silent auction closes and buyers will be contacted

After 4pm presentation of People’s Choice awards, artists pack down
